All fillers generally involve injecting special formulations into areas of the skin that could use cosmetic improvement. First, Dr. Jehangir may recommend Sculptra® following a consultation with you. If Sculptra® suits you, the second step in the process involves an average of three injection treatment sessions. These sessions are generally scheduled over a few months. The results from treatment are designed to last for up to two years! Compare that to other fillers, which may require maintenance treatments every three to six months. For the third step in treatment, we can advise on how to care for the skin after treatment. It is primarily a low-risk, hassle-free process, but it is encouraged to massage the treatment sites for five minutes, five times each day, and for five days consecutively (think of it as the “5, 5, 5 rule”). As the active ingredient, PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid), goes to work to trigger fresh collagen, the improvements from treatment will only get better with time – just like you!
